Bluebill 12
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 12 ft sneakbox-style duck boat by Sam Devlin, developed from his solo Broadbill to carry two hunters and their gear. The outboard, up to a 20 hp short shaft, sits in a well at the stern, which balances the boat, leaves room for a fuel tank on each side and keeps the motor out of sight of late-season birds. Dry weight is about 145 lb and draft 7.25 in. The plans were revised in November 2024 with imperial and metric dimensions.
Stitch and glue, small and light, and well within reach of a first-time builder. Budget 100 to 180 hours as a rule of thumb. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
