Designed by Sam Devlin
A 15 ft 7 in garvey-type hunting and utility boat by Sam Devlin, part of his Cackler series and sized between the Cackler 14 and the larger Honker. Stitch and glue plywood, 5 ft 11 in beam, 300 lb, 7 in draft loaded, a 950 lb maximum load and up to a 40 hp outboard for about 35 mph with a medium load. A bailing splashwell hides a 9 gallon tank, flotation chambers make it unsinkable, and it hunts up to three. The plans were updated in color for 2023.
A straightforward decked hull, fine for a careful first-time builder. Budget 150 to 300 hours as a rule of thumb. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
