Stillaguamish Tribe 26 Foot Canoe

A 26 ft canoe that Sam Devlin designed for the Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington State, the smaller of two commissioned over about two years alongside a 36 ft sister. The Devlin site says the pair take the shaping of plywood into complex forms to a new level. MacKenzie Devlin led the construction with tribal builders Brian and Nathan, and the build was documented on the Devlin Boat Facebook page.
This was a commissioned project and the site lists no plans, dimensions or build-time figure for it. A plywood hull this long with demanding panel shapes is work for an experienced crew, probably counted in many hundreds of hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
