Big Hunk
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 26 ft 7 in Pacific power fishing dory from Glen-L Marine, the largest of the line and at 9 ft 8 in beam not trailerable, a serious commercial platform for shrimping, diving or salmon. Flat-bottomed sheet plywood with rub strakes, about 1,800 lb, well-mounted outboard standard with transom, outdrive or jet options; the hull can be stretched up to 3 ft. Glen-L publish a beam of 9 ft 8 in and a hull depth of 5 ft 2 in.
The bare hull comes out at about 1800 lb. The hull is a flat bottom dory-type aft. Developed for sheet plywood planking with outer rub strakes. For power they specify single well-mounted outboard standard. Dory construction keeps even this size within an amateur's reach. Budget 700 to 1,200 hours. Real hours from logged builds show below.
