Huron
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A multi-chine double-ended canoe from Glen-L Marine that builds from standard plywood sheets, drawn in 13 ft and 15 ft lengths on one set of plans. It is planked over temporary forms that come out afterwards, leaving a light, clean hull that Glen-L says is hard to tell from a round-bilge canoe on the water.
A simple, low-cost build for a first-timer, with full-size patterns and step-by-step instructions. Allow 60 to 120 hours. Real hours from logged builds appear below.
What building a Huron actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
