Pedal-It
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 9 ft 4 in pedal-powered catamaran from Glen-L Marine: two stitch-and-glue plywood pontoons under a bridge deck, a bicycle seat, and pedals driving a stern paddlewheel through a chain and sprockets, with handlebars to the rudder. The drivetrain comes from a used bicycle, and an electric version is suggested.
The hulls are an easy stitch-and-glue job; the drivetrain is the fun part. Budget 60 to 120 hours. Medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Pedal-It actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
