Rio Drift Boat
Designed by Glen-L Marine
Glen-L Marine's Rio Driftboat is its proven 16 ft driftboat hull with a modern interior, watertight stowage under hatches, adjustable seats on an aluminum track sized for a 45 quart cooler, chine armor and a thigh hook, supplied as a CNC-cut plywood kit with puzzle joints, tabs and scribe marks. No jig and no frames: zip-tie the panels, tack with epoxy, fillet and glass.
Glen-L says the basic hull can go together in three or four days. Budget 80 to 150 hours to a finished boat. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Rio Drift Boat actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
