Scull Boat
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 15 ft 4 in sculling duck boat from Glen-L Marine, a very low, flat-bottomed plywood hull that the hunter lies down in and propels with a single sculling oar through a watertight sleeve in the transom. Flaring sides keep it dry, and an outboard up to 5 hp is allowed for covering distance. Glen-L publish a beam of 3 ft 6 in.
The bare hull comes out at about 170 lb. They put the usual load at 1 people. The hull is a flat bottomed with flaring sides, developed for sheet plywood. Power: Single sculling oar through transom. Short shaft outboard motor to 5 hp. They draw a matching trailer for her. Straightforward for a beginner: no building form, standard 4 by 8 plywood, step-by-step instructions and full-size patterns. Budget around 80 to 150 hours. Median hours and months from build logs kept here appear below.
