Sea Kayak Two
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 19 ft 9 in tandem touring kayak from Glen-L Marine, stitch and glue in 4 mm or quarter-inch plywood, with a choice of two cockpits or one long one so a solo paddler can sit centred. Watertight bulkheads fore and aft, plenty of stowage, and 600 lb gross weight sinks it only 6 in. The plans include home-made spray skirts.
The bare hull comes out at about 50-70 lb. They put the usual load at 1 to 2 people. The hull is a single chine, developed for 4mm or 1/4" sheet plywood, Stitch-N-Glue construction. They draw a matching trailer for her. A long but not difficult stitch-and-glue build, fine for a beginner who has room for a 20 ft hull. Budget around 100 to 200 hours. Stitch-and-glue and fiberglass kits are available. Measured hours from logged builds are below.
