Stripper
Designed by Glen-L Marine
Glen-L Marine's strip-planked canoe, drawn in 16 ft and 17 ft lengths, a ribless hull of narrow wood strips glassed inside and out. This is the boat that draws the compliments at the ramp, and the plans cover everything from the building jig to full-size patterns for the forms and bulkheads.
Labour-intensive rather than difficult; Glen-L says it needs more patience than skill. A first-time strip builder should budget 150 to 300 hours, much of it fairing and finishing bright. The medians below come from real logged builds.
What building a Stripper actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
