Not a kayak in the paddling-club sense but a roomy, stable, cheap boat for exploring calm water, with space for two adults. The hull is a 14 ft 4 in quarter-inch plywood box section with a keel to make it track while paddling, which is about as simple as a boat gets to build.
The feature that makes her unusual is the built-in transom mount for an electric trolling motor, which lets her move silently into the middle of wildlife that paddling would put to flight, and makes her a quiet fishing platform. The company notes that improvements in electric motors and gel batteries have made that side of her far more practical than it was when she was drawn.
