Angus Oxford Wherry
Designed by Colin Angus
A 15 ft 10 in sliding-seat rowing wherry by Colin Angus of Angus Rowboats. Chesapeake Light Craft makes the kits and Angus sells the plans. The stitch-and-glue hull is 38 in wide and only 53 lb, light enough for one person to car-top, with a 500 lb touring load that allows two adults aboard. In 2013 Angus and Steve Price rowed one 444 miles from Whitehorse to Dawson City nonstop in under 51 hours. It also paddles as a canoe.
CLC grades it intermediate but describes it as a good design for novice builders. No build time is given; a rule of thumb is 80 to 140 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
