Bear-Cat Sport
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 25 ft 6 in by 10 ft open-cockpit power catamaran from Glen-L Marine, larger and wider than the Wildcat for more displacement, tankage and load, on twin vee-bottomed planing hulls that take twin outboards up to speeds in the 50 mph range. Sheet plywood over wood framing or welded aluminum with beefier scantlings; about 6,000 lb. Glen-L publish a hull depth of 5 ft 1 in and a draft of 14 in.
Displacement is 6000 lb. Amateur-proven methods and full-size patterns, no lofting. Budget 1,200 to 2,000 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Bear-Cat Sport actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
