Can-Yak
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A double-ended plywood cross between a canoe and a kayak from Glen-L Marine, drawn in 12 and 14 ft lengths, for one or two people with single or double paddles. Three sheets of plywood cover planking, deck and floorboards, and it is light enough to car-top.
A simple, inexpensive build in the conventional plywood method. Allow 60 to 120 hours. Real hours and months from logged builds appear below.
What building a Can-Yak actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
