1–2. Frame templates completed. The half-plans were expanded to full size 3/8" plywood templates. This reduced layout and cutting time and increased accuracy and symmetry.

1–2. Full size mockup bottom frames 0 through 4 completed. Mostly scrap lumber (spruce, pine, plywood) was used to build the mockup frames.

1. Installing mockup frames 0 thru 4 on motor stringers.

2. Work has come to a halt as we had to undergo eye surgery. Expected recovery time is about 5 weeks.

1. Vision is fully restored now. No excuses for wavering on the cutout lines !! Frame #7 completed.

2. A quick trailer was built to bolt to the motor stringers. Now for the stem and frame #8...

3. Chevy small block anyone ?? It's at this stage of the project where you (and everyone else) begin to doubt your sanity.

4. A quick set of temporary motor mounts was developed to provide up/down and side to side adjustment.

5. The beginnings of a motor plate to anchor the front of the motor.

The templates for the bottom frames, laminations and floor timbers were screwed to Douglas Fir stock and cut on the bandsaw to within 1/8" of the template. Pieces were then trimmed on the router table using a trim bit.
